GOD'S MERCY IS BETTER THAN LIFE

Because Your mercy is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.

Why do those of us who choose to call Jesus our Lord look forward to a better life after our death than what we have here during our earthly life? Why do we choose to live our lives so contrary to so many around us and many times in opposition to what the world claims as the optimum way to lives? How can we go through so many of the dire and painful situations that life throws at us with joy and peace? It is all because we believe and we put our hope in the mercy of our God. We trust that God loves us so much that all of His promises to us are true. We believe that our time here on earth in this temporal tent, as Paul calls it, is temporary and is preparing us for an eternity in the kingdom of God with new, incorruptible bodies, living in the presence of our God. This is where we put our hope and our trust. This is why God's mercy is better than life, for His mercy is our gateway to real life. This is why our lips shall praise Him. Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
