The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord;
A good understanding is in all who practice it.
His praise continues unto ages of ages.
Personal Challenge...
It is amazing how important the pursuit of knowledge has become in our modern church. Sometimes it appears that the desire, the expectation, is that the more I know about God the better I know Him. Here the Psalmist reminds us that the true path to wisdom and understanding begins with a proper fear and respect of our Lord and is then followed with an ongoing practice of fear and respect of Him. This lifestyle is what opens the pipeline for our Lord to pour godly wisdom and understanding into our lives. It is then that we can gain more knowledge from worldly sources and temper, or filter, it through divine wisdom. Glory be to God!
