Hebrews 13:17
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Personal Challenge
It amazes me how some people in one moment proclaim how much they love Christ and desire to be like Him, and then in the next moment rail against the leadership and authority of their church, whose authority they have been placed under. We are called to be submissive to those in authority, to be humble servants of our Lord living lives that magnify Him and not our personal preferences. It is not really possible to be both of these ways at the same time. Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
