HESITATION ACCEPTABLE
Judges 7:9-11
On that same night the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant. Listen to what they shall say, and afterward your hands shall be strong and you shall then go down into the camp.” And he went down with Purah his servant to the edge of the camp of the fifty.
Encouraging Words
Here we have another case where God is okay with one of His children who doubts and hesitates. Gideon is apprehensive about entering into battle even though he knows that God is is with Him. God accepts this and encourages Gideon to sneak into his enemy's camp and listen to what is going on. In doing so, Gideon finds out from the very mouth of his enemy that he will be the victor and his doubts and fears are eliminated. God understands that we will encounter times in our lives where we will doubt. We will doubt Him, ourselves, and those around us. If we are not careful, that doubt will grow into fear and eventually we will quit altogether. This is why we must investigate our doubts immediately and look for God's hand in our circumstances. If we look intently me enough we will always find Him there encouraging and guiding us. Glory be to God!
