RICH AND POOR
2 Corinthians 8:9
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
Encouraging Words
There is no such thing in the scriptures as the gospel of prosperity that has become a popular thing in our modern, prolific society. Both Jesus and the apostles talk about the great blessings that we will receive as followers of Christ, but the blessings are eternal and spiritual blessings. If we are given material blessings, we are commanded to give those blessings to those in need. Our hearts and our minds should be heavenly focused and not earthly focused. Jesus set this example by giving up all His heavenly blessings to become one of us and live a life of poverty so that we might become rich in His heavenly realm. Glory be to God!
