Ephesians 5:14-16

Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Personal Challenge...

The quote in this passage is an early (first century) baptismal hymn, which reminds us that before Christ, before our baptism into Him, we are dead. It also commands us to be light in the dead world, to be an active part of God's redemption of His creation. We cannot do this by abandoning the world, or living like the rest of the world, but by living like the rest of the world, but living our lives in Christ, seeking Him, trying to be like Him, and being at the work of salvaging as much of the world as possible from the evil that exists.
