DO ALL THINGS WITHOUT...

Philippians 2:14-16

Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

Personal Challenge

So, if we are supposed to be working out our salvation for the remainder of our lives, how do we do that? The scriptures teach us a lot about this, but these three verses that follow the admonition to work out our salvation focus on our behavior in difficult times. We are to work through these difficult times without complaining and disputing. We do this with the joy that we have from knowing that our salvation is in Jesus Christ and so that we can be blameless and harmless amongst those around us, especially those who do not know our Lord. We do this so that we may shine the light of Christ into the dark, dreary, and lost world. We do this so that our labor for God is not in vain. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, the sinner.
